TEAM INDIVIDUAL COMBINED
LINCOLN, NE-The Dixie State College Golf team made its inagural appearance at the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Central/West Regional. Having made school history by being the first sport at Dixie State to receive an NCAA postseason invitation.
The tournament has twenty teams competing, ten from the West Region and ten from the Central Region. Dixie State entered as the 9th seed from the West Region.
Today's action featured 18 holes, the tournament is being played at the Wilderness Ridge Golf Course, a par 71, 7101 yard course in Lincoln, NE.
Dixe State was led by Cameron Crawford (Sandy. UT/Jordan HS) (T31, +4), followed by David Jennings (Farmington. UT/Viewmont HS) and Chad Crowther (South Jordan. UT/Bingham HS) (T64 +7), and Brady Machin (Sandy. UT/Alta HS) and Conner Jones (South Jordan. UT/Bingham HS) (T80, +8). The leader, Brandon Harkins from Chico State, carded a -6 under 65.
As a team, Dixie State is tied for 16th shooting a 310 (+26). The leader Sonoma State shot and even par 284.
The three-day, 54-hole tournament continues on Tuesday with the Red Storm teeing off on No. 1 beginning at 7:10 AM local time on Tuesday.
Top five teams and two individual not on a top five team in this tournament qualify for the NCAA National Championship tournament in two weeks in Blaine, Wash.
