ST. GEORGE, UTAH – Dixie State College of Utah junior outfielder Brett Adams (Sandy. UT/Alta HS) and senior starting pitcher Tyson Bailey (Mesa. AZ/Westwood HS) have been named to the West Region Second Team by the American Baseball Coaches Association and Rawlings.

Adams hit .355 in his junior season playing all 52 games in center field. He slugged nine home runs, knocked in 50 RBI and scored 52 runs, tied for the highest mark of any outfielder on either the first or second team. On defense, Adams had nine assists, 118 putouts and one error for a .992 fielding percentage. He was named to the Pacific West Conference’s second team in May.

Bailey shined in his senior campaign going 6-1 with a 2.91 earned run average in 13 appearances in 2009. The staff ace notched two complete games while striking out a team-high 59 batters. In 58.2 innings, Bailey allowed 18 earned runs on 49 hits surrendering only nine extra-base hits all year. Opponents hit for just a .226 batting average when Bailey was on the mound.

Previously, Bailey was named Pacific West Conference Pitcher of the Year, earned a spot on the conference’s First Team and made the NCBWA 2nd-Team All-West Region.
