SAINT GEORGE, UT- Freshman Forward Deanna Daniels (North Las Vegas, NV/Centennial) scored a career high 21 points and grabbed 8 rebounds en route to a 88-77 victory over Notre Dame de Namur inside the Burns Arena on Monday night.

Opening the game on a 22-4 run the Red Storm (9-6, 5-1) appeared to have the game under control. But when senior guard Jessie Ingraham (Tuscon. AZ/Canyon Del Oro) (15 points, 3 rebounds) hit her second three-pointer with 13:21 left, little did we know that DSC would follow by not hitting a shot until freshman forward Johnna Brown (Las Vegas, NV/Centennial High School) (12 points, 7 rebounds) scored with 6:52 left.

During the Red Storm cold spell the Argonauts (7-10, 3-3) would cut into the 18 point deficit and grab the lead with a 19-0 run of their own. The Red Storm would reclaim the lead at the half 35-31.

In the second half, the Red Storm would open up with a 10-4 run building their lead to 45-35 with 16:31 left. Dixie State would maintain that 10 point advantage the remainder of the game. DSC would shoot a stellar 52.9 percent in the second half.

Leading Notre Dame de Namur was Laura Zasly with 25 points and 9 rebounds and her sister Katie would collect a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds.

Dixie State committed a season low nine turnovers and forced the Argonauts into 20.  The Red Storm converted those 20 turnovers into 22 points.

Rounding out a Red Storm squad that had five players in double figures was Shane Vaifanua and Tanya Clark (Beaumont. CA/Beaumont) adding 10 points a piece. Dixie State shot 41.9 for the game.

Dixie State will play again on Saturday with a single game visit to Phoenix to take on Grand Canyon University. Tip off is scheduled for 5:00 PM. You can follow the game live on 91.3 KXDS with John Potter and on the internet at www.dixieathletics.com.
