INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA – Dixie State College remained ranked fifth in the latest NCAA Division-II West Region basketball poll released Wednesday.
The Red Storm were 1-1 in games last week – a Monday win at home over Notre Dame de Namur and their first conference loss at Grand Canyon on Saturday night.
Two GNAC schools still top the rankings - #1 Seattle Pacific, #2 Western Washington – while a pair from the CCAA round out the top four - #3 Cal State San Bernardino and #4 Humboldt State. HSU moved up two spots from #6 in last week’s poll.
Cal Poly Pomona was the big mover upwards from #10 last week to #6 this week. The Broncos beat CSU East Bay and San Bernardino last week. Pac West foe BYU-Hawaii moved up to #7. Alaska Anchorage took a tumble falling from third to eighth.
GNAC teams Central Washington and Northwest Nazarene round out the top ten. Montana State Billings fell out of the region ranks.
The Red Storm, 12-4 on the year, play Grand Canyon this Saturday at 7:30pm in the Burns Arena.
