SAN RAFAEL, CA – The #50 Dixie State College women’s tennis team earned their fourth straight victory squeaking by Dominican University 5-4 at Forest Meadows Tennis Courts.
The Red Storm (6-5) saw losses at the top of both singles and doubles, but bounced back nicely with dominating wins in later matches.
Ashley Lafeen took the number three singles match in straight sets, 6-2 and 6-1. Number five Courtney Kezerian and number six Lauren Tarver each easily won their contests. Kezerian won 6-1, 6-1 while Tarver breezed through a pair of 6-0 sets.
In doubles, the number two duo of Lafeen and Ashley Davis cruised 8-2. Tarver and Adrienne Davis blanked their competition in number three doubles.
The win over Dominican set the table for a potential sweep of today’s action as the Red Storm will face Academy of Art this evening. DSC defeated the Urban Knights 6-3 in St. George on February 26.
