UVSC's Brenda Hart dueled North Idaho's Kelli Smith to a 2-2 tie
through the first five innings. North Idaho got the early lead after Hart 
walked three hitters and gave up a sacrifice fly to Tamra LaCasse in
the second frame. The Cardinals went up 2-0 in the third after a pair
of UVSC errors and a Katelyn Tatum RBI single. But UVSC rallied
to tie it. Kara Tarbet doubled in the fourth, then scored on Cheri 
Rasmussen's triple. Sabrina Dinkel singled in another run in the 
fifth to tie it at 2-2. The big blow for UVSC came in the bottom of
the sixth when April Mecham belted a pinch-hit two-run homer off
Smith.
